China Glaze Electric beat + Stamping

I used China Glaze Electric beat and Accessorize Sapphire and Cheeky plate CH11 for this stamping. I actually really like it, turned out better then i thought and it stamped on brilliantly.

China Glaze - International Flare

This is a really nice magenta colour pink polish, it has a slight shimmer to it in the bottle but it doesn't show up on the nice.

The first coat was very sheer but once the second coat was applied it it gave it a nice full coverage.

China Glaze Kinetic Candy + Stamping

I've missed doing stamping on my nails lately, so seeing as today has been the first day of doing NOTHING :-) i decided to use China Glaze Kinetic Candy and cheeky plate 16. I tried many colours out first before settling on using another of my new polishes China Glaze Deviantly Daring for the stamping. I wasn't sure to start with how the polish would turn out as it seem a little watery but it was brilliant to stamp with.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to get stamps to fit the thumb nail. I hate having the gaps around each side every time on my thumb :-(

China Glaze Bogie (rare) + Revlon Stunning

This is one of the new polishes that came Friday from America. Its from a fall 2010 collection i think but it is a pretty colour. It's a plum/smoky brown colour with a multi-coloured shimmer to in it in the light. It only needed 2 coats for a full coverage. The only problem i had was my brush was loose so made applying difficult :-( it even fell out of the lid twice. But i have a china glaze that i was going to get rid of so i may just clean up that brush and swap them over as i would certainly wear this colour many times.

I wore the polish just that colour for a few hours but really fancied adding some glitter so i used Revlon Stunning

China Glaze Aquadelic + Collection 2000 Glittersweet

I tried out one of the new polishes i bought yesterday which was collection 2000 Bedazzled nail effects Glittersweet. I never buy collection 2000 polishes as i have always been disappointed with them but i just saw this glitter and wanted it.

It says you can use it as a top coat or wear alone. After using this i really don't think you could wear it alone as the polish is quite watery so it would take many many coats. I decided to use it over China Glaze Aquadelic. It looked ok but i think a darker green would have suited it better.

2 coats of Aquadelic + 2 coats of Glittersweet

No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara

While i still have a few minutes i thought i would get this review done before i go back to the tidy up, washing, ironing, cleaning and polish and present hiding lol

I love love love love LOVE!!!! this mascara. i have so many mascaras in my make up drawer that i just don't use because i was disappointed in them but this one i think will be my number 1 mascara for a while. I bought this when i had loads of no7 vouchers and got my no7 Haul just before my holiday. It normally retails at £11 and i think i got it for £6 a big bargain i think.

This mascara really does do as it says, it's a 3 in one brush that is suppose to give definition and volume. For me it certainly did that, it also had barely any clumping once applied. I have worn this mascara since holiday and even in 30 degree heat it was brilliant i didn't get any panda eyes from sweating. Even for work most of my mascaras end up flaking abit near the end of the day and at times looks like i have none on but this mascara lasted ALL DAY!!! come the evening when i took it off it still look really good and didn't look like i had, had it on all day.

At £11 this mascara is abit on the pricey side but i would still buy it at full price, if your unsure then wait for the no7 vouchers then give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

Latest Polish Haul

I'm really sorry for the lack of updates this week, i have been really busy with work and decorating that i just haven't had the time. Even today which is my day off i'm still going to be busy :-(
With christmas not to far away i started doing a little bit of present shopping today, i was so happy that when i got to my local shopping mall it was really quiet. The Queen has come to visit a school just around the corner from me so everyone has gone to see her, which i'm not complaining i get my shopping done quicker with no queues!!!!
As always when i'm out buying presents i always have to buy myself something :-) i popped into Boots and bought two collection 2000 glitter polishes and then went to Debenhams and bought OPI You only live twice. They cheered me up and made me feel like not all my money is going on other people!!
It was even better when i got home to find a little red card from the postman, i wasn't 100% sure which parcel it was so when i got to the sorting office i was so happy to find out it was more polishes that i had ordered from America!!!!
I'm really glad my fiance is working late today as i'm going to have to hide all these polishes from him, we're ment to be saving :-) but shhhhhhh

Anyways heres the polishes i bought today

Opi - You only live twice

OPI Planks alot

Planks alot is another of the £4 colours i managed to buy the other weekend in Debenhams.
I have loads of purples but this one didn't look like any of my other ones. Its more of a dark dusty purple. It's applied well if really carefully you could get away with 2 coats.

I haven't done much sta, ping of late so decided to use konad plate m65 and konad white. This stamp was a huge pain, i just couldn't get it to look nice, i don't know if it was the design or the polish but it just didn't apply nicely.

Sunday 21 October 2012

China Glaze Sweet Hook + Aquadelic

These two polishes came in my little polish haul i bought from America. I love both of these colours.

Any Purple/lilac nail polish i just can't resist. Sweet Hook is a pale purple with a pink tone to it. I really do love this colour but found applying it to be a little difficult for some reason and it seemed a little uneven in places. But still apart from that i would wear this polish all the time if it wasn't for the fact i have so many.

Aquadelic is a green/turquoise polish. It dries brighter then it looks in the bottle and has a nice gloss to it once dried. This polished applied alot smoother then Sweet hook and looked more even once dried. I don't have many greens in my collection as my work uniform is a green top so it tends to clash but if i added a silver glitter on top like OPI Pirouette My Whistle i think this colour would look really pretty. The only negative to this colour i found was when i removed the polish i had green stains on the skin around my nails.

Next Nail Polish - Glitter

As i was queueing in Next the other day i noticed they were selling nail polish. There wasn't many colours, only one caught my eye which was a silver/pink/blue glitter and for £3 i thought it was worth a try.
When applying it was a pain, it was very watery and patchy, it took 3 coats to get an even colour and even then on some nails you could still see some patches. The only positive was it did look pretty for the day but chipped very easily. I applied it in the morning and by the evening i had to take it off as it looked horrible with all the chips. I don't know if that was to do with the day i had (lots of tidying up) or its just how the polish is.

Diva of Geneva + Accent nail

I have fallen in love with this polish, it really has become one of my favourites.
I decided after having roses stamped on my nails i re-done them and did an accent nail instead.

Thursday 18 October 2012

OPI Diva of Geneva

Such a pretty colour. This is a red.plum colour with a golden shimmer to it. When i bought this i didn't realise i had bought a very similar colour No7 Damson Dream. Between the two i prefer this one, it only needed 2 coats only my thumb needed an extra coat which i didn't see until i took this picture. Damson dream needed 4 coats and chipped within the first day.

The only difference i could see between the two was Diva of Geneva was very slightly that bit darker.

My right hand is always that bit messier then my left. Completely forgot to take a picture only remember when i was half way through stamping my left hand.

For this pattern i used Konad white and Konad plate m65

Wednesday 17 October 2012

OPI Austin-tatious Turquoise

This was one of my weekend bargins i managed to pick up 2 OPI for £4 each!!!!! i rarely buy OPI in a shop as they sell for £11 and unless i love a colour then i wont pay that money i will instead buy from Ebay. In my local Debenhams they have a Regis counter that sells all OPI products and for some reason they were doing HUGE discounts on loads of the older polishes. I bought this and another colour which was marked down to £6 however when it came to paying they didn't really look and put both through at £4! i certainly wasn't complaining.

This colour in the bottle looks amazing and photographed really well, but it was abit of a pain. It was very very sheer and took 4 coats for a full coverage some nails could of done with 5. i was a little disappointed that the pink shimmer you see in the bottle doesn't at all show up on your nails but in the sun and light the polish is gorgeous!! This is one of the rare polishes that i wouldn't mind using 4/5 coats on. And for £4 for an OPI you can't really complain.

Tuesday 16 October 2012

China Glaze Fast Track

This is the second polish from the hunger games collect that i have bought. I had high hopes for this polishes as i loved foie gras so much however i was a little disappointed. Fast track has a beige base with a gold shimmer. It took 3 coats for full cover though a little nail line was still visible but i don't usually apply anymore then 3 coats unless i love the colour.

This colour looked much better then the pictures, if you have tanned/dark skin this colour would be great, i have some tan from holiday (not that the pictures showed) so it looked nice but still i think this polish could of been better.

Monday 15 October 2012

Zoya Ornate Collection

I seriously cannot wait until these polishes are avalible over here in the UK. I've seen swatches of some of them and just fallen in love with two. Thank goodness i still have some holiday money left so i can get some :-)

My favourite two our Aurora and Blaze :-) ooooooo i want i want :-)

China Glaze Electric Beat + Stamping

This is one of my newer colours i just received, it's China Glaze Electric Beat, this blue is really nice soft light blue creme. The polish went on really nice, it only took 3 coats, could of gotten away with 2 very careful coats.

China Glaze Pink Plumeria + Stamping

This is such a pretty colour, looks great if you have a tan, not sure it'll look as nice when your have pale hands in winter but it is still a beautiful colour. It's a soft orange pink colour with a shimmer to it.

This picture is with 3 coats

I then used one of my new Konad plates m85.

I'm not 100% happy with this stamp design, i like the pattern but it didn't seem to stamp on well which i think was more to do with the fact i'm really tired and haven't done any stamping in over a week. I'm going to give this stamp design another go another day and hopefully it'll come out better.

Mini haul waiting for me :-)

Topshop - Powder

Powder is a light baby pink with a silver shimmer, though the shimmer on the nail isn't really that noticable. It only needed two coats full a fully coverage. This really is such a pretty girly colour :-)

Simple Derma Intensive relief cream

This product for me is 10 out of 10 and is a magic potion to me. I suffer from dry skin alot specially when there is sudden changes in the weather, which happens to be most weeks in the UK lately. This all started about 3 years ago when i suffered from pityriasis rosea for 3-4months (hard to explain what it is, google the pictures) . My legs suffered the most they would be really dry, sore and cracked and really sting when i shaved them. I had tried so many other creams that i gave up on anything working, even e45 cream didn't help.

I came across this cream during the time i had pityriasis rosea and have stuck with it ever since. It really is brilliant. After the first time i used it my skin felt soft and my legs were finally sting free!!! My skin now feels really hydrated when i use it and no longer looks dry and flakey.

This year i have noticed dry patches on my ribs and face appearing similar to when i had pityriasis rosea so i started used this cream in those places too and within a couple days the patches were no longer sore, flakey and red and within a week they had disappeared. It really is my magic cream and i would recommend it to anyone who suffers with dry skin.

You can buy this from superdrugs and boots and is pretty cheap to buy.

Butter London - Lovely Jubbly

This is the first Butter London polish i have purchased. I'm really impressed with it, it's such a different glitter, i've not come across anything similar.

Lovely Jubbly is a red, gold, purple and blue glitter in a magenta base. It really is Lovely Jubbly,  it's really sparkly and pretty.  I applied this glitter on top of Accessorize one coat Amethyst then applied 2 coats of Lovely Jubbly. This is my second favourite glitter, just below Deborah Lippmans Mermaid's Dream.

The only thing i dislike about this and other glitter polishes is the time it takes to remove them!! the foil method is a must of these type of glitters.

Saturday 6 October 2012

Lime Crime and Nubar

I rarely seem to use Lime Crimes Milky Ways as it tends to look plain on its own. So i went through my collection and choose Nubars Hollywood Pink to use as a stamping polish. I really wasn't sure how this would turn out as i hadn't used this polish for stamping before and i could barely see it on the stamper. But after really taking my time the turned out ok, it's not one of my favourites but still looks good.

I used konad plate m60 then finished with Rimmels Matte top coat

Friday 5 October 2012

Revlon Scented Polish - Not so Blueberry

Out of the whole collection of scented polishes this is the only one i own, and the smell is just simply AMAZING!!!

I was first drawn to this polish as it was a gorgeous lilac (my favourite colour) not realising it was scented until that even when i painted my nails. Even with a coat of seche on top the smell was still there. It's such a nice sweet smell that the whole time i was wearing it i couldn't help but keep smelling my nails!!

The colour is a Lilac/Silver foil that also slightly shimmers in the sun.

No7 Haul

I went No7 voucher mad at the weekend :-). The current vouchers run out while i'm away on holiday so i was determined to use all of them. Other then the nail polish, i've used them all quickly but not enough to give a review just yet.

I bought:
  • Damson Dream nail polish
  • Exceptional Definition Mascara
  • Cocooning Body Balm
  • Revitalising Hand Saviour
  • Softening Foot Balm
  • Nourishing nail and cuticle care cream

I'm looking forwarding to giving them all a good try. I've taking the mascara, foot balm and cuticle cream on holiday with me, so once i'm back i can give a good review of those products.

No7 Damson Dream

I love when Boots release there money off of there No7 range, i have so many of there products that i love. However i wont buy most of them when they are at full price as i dont think they are worth that amount of money however when there is £5 off i'll pick up as many as i can afford.

One of the many products i picked up over the weekend was this no7 Damson Dream polish. It looks like such a gorgeous colour in the bottle, it is a shimmery dark purple/red. When the sun was out the colour looked really pretty on my nails. However the down side was the polish was slightly watery so i found myself having to apply 4 coats to get a nice even colour with made the polish chip easily :-(
I bought the polish for £2.50 using my £3 off voucher, however i wouldn't pay the full £5.50 price for it because of how watery it is and the chipping, though i do really love the colour.

I'm off on holiday tonight, going to Tunisia for a week. I have however schuduled posts for each day i'm away. So i hope you all enjoy the posts and once i'm back hopefully the konad plates and china glaze polishes i have ordered will be waiting for me so i'll have plenty of swatches and designs to do.

See you all soon x

China Glaze + Stamping

I've once again used China Glaze Foie Gras for the base of this stamping as i love the colour so much. I used Konad plate m64 and konad white. I really do like this pattern

I'm making the most of my nails looking like this as tomorrow i will be getting my nails shellac'ed for holiday. I don't know how i am going to cope with the same coloured nails for over a week!!!!

Saturday 29 September 2012

Rimmel Exotica + Stamping

This is one of my favourite reds in my collection, i have had this nail polish for years, I'm certain it was one of the first in my collection.

Exotica is a vibrant metallic red with a gold shimmer. The shimmer shows slightly on the nail but not as much as it does in the bottle. As much as i love this colour i don't tend to wear red much as i find its too much of a rich colour for me, but since i started stamping i have worn it much more as the stamping break up the colour more. The colour that i find goes really nice with red is a gold.

The only downside to this polish i have found is that it stains my nails more then any other colour even with a base coat. The only base coat which has been thick enough to help prevent that is Boots No7 base coat, i use two coats of it before adding this polish and i now find once i take it off there is very little staining, other then some redness on the skin from where it was rubbed to be removed.

For this stamping i used cheeky plate CH7 and Accessorize metalized one coat in Jewel.

More Flower stamping

As i said in a prevous post i do like my flower stamping and i promise i will certainly change it up from now on.

I did this design on my friends nails a few weeks ago, i think it looks lovely, its not once of my best, i could of done it so much neater, i find it harder doing other peoples nails then my own, they never end up as neat but i'm slowly getting there. Will certainly have to redo this design at some point.

For this design i used Nubar white peony then stamped using Cheeky plate CH12 and Accessorise metalized one coat in greige then for the dots i used lime crimes parfait day, lavendairy and once in a blue mousse.

Friday 28 September 2012

China Glaze and Ring finger design

It wasn't until recently when going through my polish collection i noticed that i didn't own any browns! i have every other colour, glitter, holo etc but no browns!!! so i spent about an hour googling all different brands to find one that i liked and it was no wonder i didn't own any as only one caught my eye which was China Glaze Foie Gras from the Hunger Games collection.

I ordered the colour from EBay Tuesday and received it Wednesday and i have been wearing it since, which is unlike me as i normally change my polish everyday if i have a chance!

In the bottle it looks more like a dusty purple, brown tone colour. Once applied the polish drys darker and to a more chocolately colour and i love it!!!! It only needed two coats and dried with a gorgeous gloss finish.

I was going to konad my nails afterwards but i thought it might just hide the colour to much, plus as much as i love konad, at the time i wasn't up for doing all the clean up involved. I decided i would do an accent nail with some of the nail art stickers i have.

The end result turned out better then i expected. I hope you like.

Thursday 27 September 2012

Ciate Jelly Bean + Stamping

This is the latest nail stamping i have done and one of the quickest as there wasn't much polish to clear up afterwards. I used 2 coats of Ciate Jelly Bean which is a lovely fuschia pink with a blue/purple shimmer to it, unfortunately the shimmer doesn't really show on the nail like it does in the bottle. Once dried it gives a lovely glossy finish. I used cheeky plate CH14 with konad white, then finished off with a matte top coat by Rimmel.

Flower Stamping on Accessorize polish

I have a big thing for flower nail stamping, i just think they look really pretty, i tend to always lean towards those designs when deciding which one to use. I need to start experimenting more with other patterns.

For this design i used Boots No7 base coat, i really do like this base coat it normally retails at £5.50 but if you have the recent Boots £3 off make up voucher you can pick it up for £2.50 so i picked a couple of those up aswell as the top coat and i'm very impressed with both. I tend to use my Boots top coat more then my seche top coat lately.

The colour i used was Accessorize Metalized one coat in Sapphire, i do like there one coat range and have brought all of them, unforunately they don't have many only about 6 or 7 these are perfect if you don't have alot of time to get your nails done as one coat really does cover completely and they are also brilliant for stamping. I bought mine from my local Superdrugs store but i have noticed that not all of there shops sell the range.

The stamping plate i used was Cheeky CH14 and konad white, i finished off with Boots No7 Top coat. The end result of this manicure i think is really pretty. The blue and white go really well together and stand out. I do however get annoyed that the patterns are just that bit to small to fit my thumb!

Fishtail Manicure with Lime Crime Polishes

After seeing this manicure on many other blogs i thought i would try it out myself. It's not as hard and messy as i though it would be. Like many others i decided to do an accent nail. This was my first attempt which went pretty well.

The colours i used where the new lime crime colours (i love these colours), i painted all but my ring finger in Once in a blue mousse which only need 2 coats, then on my ring finger i used 1 coat of Lavendairy and painted the bottom half of my nail, i then started the fish tail with once in a blue mousse, next i used parfait day then Lavendairy. I carried on in that order until i reach the top of my nail. Once the colours were fully dry i finished off with Boots No7 top coat. I wasn't expecting this manicure to last long as the accent nail can get a thick layer of polish but it surprised me and lasted at least 3 days before i got a slight chip on the corner.

I love this design and got many compliments from people, ended up doing a few of my friends nails as they loved the design too.

Sorry for the small pictures, i have been off work now for a while so had been doing my nails during that time and took pictures with my phone. Now i've started the blog any designs from today will have much better pictures (hopefully)

Talika Lipocils

The moment i started this blog i knew one of my first posts would be about this product Talika Lipocils, there is only one word to explain it which is simply AMAZING!!!! unfortunately i dont have pictures to show the before and after as i started using it years ago.

I first saw this product back in May 2010 while looking through the duty free magazine that airlines give you. My eyelashes have always been short and gappy which i hated so for £19 i thought i would give it a try. It says to expect results in 28 days however i noticed results within 7 days. You put it on just like a mascara, it is a clear liquid which dries within 5-10mins then you can put your mascara on top.

I used it morning and night during my whole holiday and by the time it got to the end i was shocked at the difference in my lashes already. They had started to grow longer and some of the gaps were beginning to fill. I continued to use it for the next 3 weeks by which time my lashes were fuller, thicker and longer.

This tube lasted me nearly 8 months so was really worth the money i paid. I have been using this product ever since, though i have noticed if i go a week or so without using it my lashes do start to fall out.

I was so impressed with this product that i bought the Talika eyebrow lipocils as i do have thin and gappy eyebrows from over plucking :-( and it worked wonders. Within a few weeks my eyebrows were fuller and the gaps filled.

This is most certainly my most recommend product i have ever used. You can buy it straight from there own website Talika.co.uk or beautybay.com

Favourite Stamping

I'm going to start with one of my favourite nail patterns. I've recently got into nail stamping after seeing all the designs you could. It took a few goes to get the hang of it and now that i have i'm obsessed :-)

For this design i used my favourite polish right now which is Ciate Purple Sherbet. This polish came free in Junes issues of MarieClaire and i've fallen in love with it. It does take 3 coats to get a smooth even finish but once dry it has a lovely gloss look to it. For the stamping i used cheeky plate CH12 with konad white then finished off with Rimmel PRO Matte finish.
Sorry for the dry cuticles, its all of a sudden gotten really cold over here in the UK and my hands are hating the weather right now.

First Post

I've been thinking for ages about starting a blog but never got around to it. I am a huge nail polish addict, my collection isn't as big as many bloggers but compared to everyone i know it's huge. I also love beauty products. So this blog will be a mixture of beauty products and nail polish, though nail polish may end up being the main subject. I hope you all will like it and continue to read my blog.
